A copy of a statement by Bob Nelkin, Associate Executive Director of ACC-PARC, following the death of Louis Novak, a child with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while a resident of Ridgeview. Novak drowned in an incident involving other residents of the institution. Nelkin used Novak's death, along with other deaths and injuries to residents at institutions, to heighten the call for better treatment of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
