  • The Pennsylvania Railroad’s station at Pitcairn was originally named “Walurba,” after the name of the village, but in 1897 the railroad changed the name of the station at the request of the Pitcairn Borough Council, even though the depot was actually located outside the Borough’s limits. All train schedules had to be changed to reflect the new name.
