Description
These five individuals served as judges for the Miss Pittsburgh Pageant in 1926. According to the note scrawled on the photo, "they did it," but what exactly they did is not specified. Presumably, they successfully chose a winner. The woman in the middle is Gladys Walton, a silent film star who was also a mistress of Al Capone. Living in New York at the time, she was asked to be a guest judge for this competition. The other judges have not been identified- it is unknown if they are also celebrities of the era. Note the creative hairstyle the second man from the left is sporting. Also, check out the dangling legs of the men and women sitting on the roof of the building behind the judges.
