  • Citizens of Oakmont crowd Allegheny River Boulevard to admire the wares of the vendors at the summer street sale in Oakmont. The street sale is an annual tradition in Oakmont, whereat Oakmont merchants offer their wares at good bargains in the street in front of their stores. Other organizations, such as church groups and civic groups, set up tables of refreshments available for purchase as well. Evidently, some people got to the sale by riding their bikes, while others walked. On the right side of the street are Sinclair Service Station, a jewelry store, the Oakmont Tea Room, the Delaware Pharmacy and Stone's Pharmacy, all of which have since been replaced by other businesses.
