Description
The photographer stands on the corner of Maryland Avenue and Allegheny Avenue, looking south down the latter road. In the foreground is the street sign, which includes a sign for Oakmont Boro. Oakmont's sign includes the oak leaf image, which is often used to represent Oakmont. The building closest to the photographer houses Hoffstot's Cafe Monaco. Further down the street, Jack Schempp Pontiac dealership, located at 531 Allegheny River Boulevard, is visible, as well as Vescios Restaurant, which opened in 1980, and an Amoco gas station. The Vescios location now houses the Chelsea Grill. Originally from the collection of Jean W. Rodman.
