  • Little league baseball was very popular in Oakmont. This 1958 team, The Owls, played ball on Scaife Field like many other teams in Oakmont. Scaife Field was on Ann Street across from the Scaife Company Plant. Len Flowers (at right), himself a baseball player for Oakmont, was the Owls' manager. Len Flowers played a prominent role in sports and recreation for Oakmont's youth, for many years. Originally from the Len Flowers Collection.
