  • The group of infantrymen charges into the mock battle. They crouch with guns at the ready. Infantrymen and the public joined together for this mock battle on Labor Day in 1918. Luckily, many of these soldiers probably never saw battle- this photograph was taken in September 1918 and Germany surrendered on Armistice Day, November 11 1918.
