Description
In the foreground, the barely visible building is Edgewater Steel's pump house. The St. Patrick's Day flood of 1936 curtailed production at riverside plants all the way to the Point in Pittsburgh. Buildings had to be cleaned, for obvious reasons, and equipment needed refurbishment to recover from its inundation. The flood caused damage to over 130 buildings in structures in the Oakmont area alone. Originally from the Moss Collection.
