  • Members of the Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department stand and kneel in front of the new Mack Fire Truck purchased for the department in 1946. Accounts vary as to when the fire department was founded. A group organized in 1907 as volunteer firemen, and then reorganized within the borough in 1921. Originally part of the Fire Department, Paul Nicholas Collection.
