Description
Gang #3 gets together for their group photo. Unlike the other gangs, the men in Gang #3 do not all remove their hats for the photo. The men in the back row stand atop a bench; the men in the front row kneel down. One woman, in the center of the ground-level standing row, is a pictured with both Gang #1 and Gang #3. Located on Allegheny River Boulevard and College Avenue, the plant eventually expanded to produce forged and rolled products to the transportation and industrial gear and bearing industries. The company also produced forged and rolled rings from titanium and other aerospace materials for the use in combustion chambers of military and commercial engines for jet aircraft and rockets. The plant operated in Oakmont until 2001 and was Oakmont's largest employer for several years.
