The Oakmont United Methodist Church had worshipped in their outdoor 'Tabernacle in the Grove' at 524 Fourth Street, and then briefly at the Red Onion Saloon that was then on Hulton Road. After moving into their new brick church in 1893, rapid expansion of the congregation caused them to move again to their current location on the corner of Maryland Avenue and Fifth Street, which was dedicated on November 5, 1916. Their website is www.oakmontumc.org. Originally from the collection of Vince Provenza.
