The Reizenstein Family Photographic Collection consists of twenty folders housed in one archival box and arranged alphabetically by family name. The photographs consist primarily of family portraits and snapshots from the Reizenstein, Schamberg, Silberstein, and Silverman families. The collection also includes one photograph of the Silberstein storefront and one of the Silverman storefront. The collection also documents trips made by Louis and Florence Silberstein Reizenstein and the groundbreaking and dedication of the Reizenstein School, Reizenstein Family Photographs, 1860-1970, MSP 0073, Rauh Jewish Archives, Library and Archives Division, Senator John Heinz History Center, Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania, Celeste Silberstein Behrend gift 3/01/1997 1997.0098 papers., Jane Rosenberg Berkey gift 6/20/2007 2008.0205 paprs., Celeste Silberstein Behrend gift 2/27/1990 1990.0025 papers., Celeste Silberstein Behrend gift 5/31/1994 1994.0127 papers, Lois Michaels gift 2/5/2004 2004.0031 papers., Gift of Jane Rosenberg Berkey, Gift of Celeste Silberman Behrend, Gift of Lois Michaels, Charles Reizenstein and other family members came to the United States from Germany around 1848. By 1882, he had established a business named the Charles Reizenstein Company that sold glass and gifts, located on Federal Street in Allegheny City, now the Pittsburgh North Side.
