He graduated from the Department of History and Geography of Zhejiang University in 1941. In 1948, he attended Syracuse University. After he earned his PhD in Geography, he taught at Dartmouth College, MIT, Columbia University, The Catholic University of America, University of Leeds and University of Pittsburgh. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus of Geography at the University of Pittsburgh. 谢觉民(1918年7月-),中国浙江上虞人,1941年毕业于国立浙江大学历史地理系,1948年赴美后入雪城大学攻读地理学博士学位,之后,曾任教于达特茅斯学院、麻省理工学院、哥伦比亚大学、美国天主教大学、利兹大学以及匹兹堡大学,现为匹兹堡大学地理学荣休教授。 He has been awarded the Fulbright Research Professorship three times and has been a Senior Fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities in 1972. 谢曾三次获得富布赖特研究奖金,并在1972年获得美国人文科学研究奖。, The material in this collection is in Chinese and English.
