Frances Raphael: She says-- she says to everybody. She says, since the
first trip she made to Israel. It's just amazing what she has done. Mrs.
Morton Weissman: Uh, did you ever belong to an organization specifically
for national Jews? Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian? Raphael: No. No.

00:00:25.000 --> 00:00:47.000
Weissman: And I guess, um. From when you left your parents' home, where
did you move to? You lived on Carson Street there. And then what? Raphael:
Carson Street again. Weissman: In Carson. Then you ever live in East
Liberty or Squirrel Hill? Raphael: No. No. No. Weissman: Then you came to
Mount Lebanon.

00:00:47.000 --> 00:01:08.000
Raphael: When my father died. We sold the business. And we came to Mount
Lebanon. Weissman: About what year was that? Raphael: Oh, 38. Weissman:
1938. And you lived on, was it Crescent? Raphael: Seneca and Inglewood
Drive? Weissman: Uh huh. And now you live at the Bowerhill Apartments.

00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:30.000
Raphael: Cooper used to live in Crescent. That's right near us. Weissman:
That's what it was in my mind. Uh. Where are your parents buried? Raphael:
[??] cemetery. Weissman: Do you own a cemetery plot for yourself? Raphael:
No. Weissman: Do you plan to?

00:01:30.000 --> 00:02:25.000
Raphael: Yeah, I've thought of it. As a matter of fact. I asked that our
temple and they said they were going to do something and they never did.
And they were going to let me know. And so, uh, every time I go to the
cemetery, I think, well, why don't I, why don't I. But, um, I have provided
that, uh, nobody will have to be concerned about. Weissman: Is there such a
thing as a family club? Raphael: No. Weissman: Uh, is there anything else
you'd want to talk about? Anything you can think that perhaps we didn't
cover about Pittsburgh or your family or friends? Raphael: My family.
That's my first love.

00:02:25.000 --> 00:03:25.000
Weissman: Well, you're also active in various organizations. Raphael: Want
me to show you a little article that just was printed just recently?
Weissman: Uh, is there anyone else you might suggest that I interview? Next
time you see Beck Balon mention a good word. I had her. She said yes. And
then she called me up and said no. Raphael: She went to California this
Monday. Weissman: Oh, that's right. Raphael: She has a-- I think it's a bar
mitzvah. She has a son, and she'll be gone for a couple of weeks.
