Description
Poster inviting attendees to a benefit for labor activist, Edward (Ed) Sadlowski. A Chicago native, Sadlowski held many labor positions including as director of the United Steelworkers of America (USWA) District 31. A known organizer, He ran for president of the USWA in 1977 under the Steelworkers Fightback rank-and-file movement which sought to end corruption in the USWA. Though he didn't win, Sadlowski garnered the support of notables including Studs Terkel.
