  • This musical group was organized in 1911 and performed for many years in lyceum tours, churches, YMCAs, lodge entertainments, concerts and banquets throughout the region. Pitcairn’s mandolin sextet was with pioneering radio station KDKA in Pittsburgh when it first began its operations, playing from the top of K Building in East Pittsburgh in the 1920s.
