  • A group of women pose for a photograph at the Willows Pool. The photographer labeled the photo "Willows Club Lassies" suggesting that perhaps these women were part of a club swimming group. The J.R. Hunter photographic collection contains several photographs of women athletes, particularly swimmers. The Willows Pool was also a common theme in his photographs. The Willows originally started out as a hopping night club that featured all the big name bands of the day and fine dining. The swimming pool would not open until 1926. Oakmonters enjoyed dining, boating and partying at the Willows despite prohibition of the 1920s.
