  • The photographer must have been standing just across the railroad tracks to take this picture of Oakmont Station. Everything looks quiet and closed up at the time of the photo. The station was located between Delaware and Maryland Avenues along Allegheny Avenue. The Pennsylvania Railroad conducted service out to Oakmont and into Pittsburgh until the late 1960s. After service was discontinued, it was demolished in June of 1970. Originally from the collection of Rita Young.
