Description
Members of the Kokales family gather in the back of the grocery store they operate for a picture. The shelves are filled and displays stand everywhere. In the front of the shop is a display of coffees, which includes Red Cup Coffee, Green Cup Coffee, and Clover Farm Coffee. The Kokales' Market was a Clover Farm Store, so they carried many Clover Farm products. A sign on one of the displays announces the 4th annual Clover Farm Stores picnic to be held at Idlewild Park on a Wednesday in August. Letters hanging from the latticework advertise Sunkist soda. Beneath that, ham hocks hang from hooks. The Kokales family opened their market, located at 154 Allegheny River Boulevard, in May 1921 and remained open until 1979. Originally from the collection of the Kokales Family.
