Description
Charles (Chas) Bailey and family lived in this lovely Oakmont home, seen here from the front across the wooded lawn. The house, a three-story white colonial, was built in 1904 by Charles and wife Clara. In 1923, the house was sold to the Fownes family. The yard contains many large trees and must have been nice on hot summer days- if one was bored with walking through the white marble halls of the main residence. The house is located at 1037 Hulton Road. The Oakmont Carnegie Library Archives has several boxes of documents relating the Bailey family, donated by Margaret Bailey in the late 1980s, including paperwork and photographs belonging to Charles Bailey.
