Description
Because of the St. Patrick's Day Flood in 1936, it became possible to canoe along some of the main avenues and boulevards of Oakmont, as these three men are doing. Another man stands on the railroad tracks, bending over a bit, perhaps cleaning some lint off of his coat. He does not seem to be communicating with the men in the canoe, nor do they seem interested in him. Behind the man and the canoe are houses, over half covered with water. Over 130 buildings were damaged in Oakmont alone.
