Description
In the center of this photograph, taken during the 1936 St. Patrick's Day Flood, stands a house. Only the top floor is visible, the water having risen to cover all of the bottom half of the home. Behind this submerged home, Edgewater Steel can be seen. Just to the left of the home, behind the trees, three people in a canoe are just barely visible. Over 130 buildings were damaged in Oakmont alone.
