Description
In 1910 a Pittsburgh transportation plan recommended widening and paving the street from the North Side through Millvale, Etna, Sharpsburg, and Aspinwall. The Etna-Sharpsburg Bypass was constructed by Latrobe Road Construction, Inc. of Latrobe Pennsylvania. More than 150 men, including engineers and laborers worked on this project. Construction began in 1956 and was completed on October 22, 1958.
