About Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh opened in 1895, the third of Andrew Carnegie's major library projects in Western Pennsylvania. The library added eight branches within a few years of its opening and has continued to grow to 19 locations today that serve neighborhoods across Pittsburgh. The Library's Archives division maintains institutional records for departments within the library as well as other collections related to Western Pennsylvania History.
