The A.E. Jones Sign Company was established in Allegheny City, Pa. in 1897 (Pittsburgh's North Side as of 1907). The company has relocated several times but is, as of 2012, still in business and located at 507 Tripoli Street, in the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pa.
The A.E. Jones Company Photographs contain prints and negatives that include images of signs produced by the company. Many of the images depict billboards, as well as signs on the sides of automobiles and businesses. Businesses represented in the collection include Amoco, Western Union, O'Sullivan Heels, and the Federal Tobacco Company.
