Scope and Content Notes

The Raymond Walton Sports Collection contains sports programs and ticket stubs focused on Western Pennsylvania sports teams and athletic events. These include the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers, Erie Seawolves, the 1997 NCAA Basketball tournament held at the Civic Arena, and University of Pittsburgh athletics. There are game day and yearbook programs, ticket stubs, scorecards, and memorabilia, as well as Superbowl XXX programs, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, there are oversized materials consisting of the sports sections from several Pittsburgh newspapers highlighting the Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup victories in 1992 and 1993, as well as Pirate posters.
