Scope and Content Notes

The Nancy Ryan Barkman Collection contains programs and booklets from Pittsburgh cultural events. There are two Civic Light Opera Programs for Naughty Marietta and Brigadoon , performed in the 1949-1950 season at Pitt Stadium. Included is a Central Catholic High School program from a 1949 production of Rose Maria . The papers contain several Duquesne University items, consisting of a 1955 Military Ball program, a 1954 Gamma Phi 29th Annual Thanksgiving Ball booklet, and a 1954 Duquesne University Tamburtitzans booklet. Additionally, there is 2000 issue of the Pittsburgh Pirates official magazine On Deck, from the teams last season in Three Rivers Stadium. The collection also contains approximately fifty different signed individual school photographs, three postcards Barkman received, a hand fan listing incumbent African American congressmen and women, and additional event programs.
