The Michael Ursiny Collection includes zines documenting the Pittsburgh music scene. With a focus on punk rock, the collection includes issues of the Generic Fanzine (written by Ursiny), Fan Tale, New Magazine, Cancelled Cancelled Cancelled, and Pittsburgh's Top Alternatives (PTA). Also included is a copy of Showcase, an entertainment magazine issued by Pitt News, from 1980 that includes an interview with the Rave-ups. The zines include concert and record reviews of local and national acts, interviews, information about local venues and record stores, and other forms of expression and commentary.
