Description
The H. Hughart Laughlin House was donated to the College in 1967 by Hughart's wife, Marjorie Rea Laughlin. It has 22 rooms and is located on Woodland Road across from Andrew Mellon Hall and in between the Rea House and Berry Hall. The Marjorie Rea Laughlin House is used as a dormitory. James Laughlin was one of the College's founders and the first president of the Board of Trustees. H. Hughart owned part of the J&L Steel Corporation, which James started with Benjamin Jones in 1861. Mrs. Marjorie Rea Laughlin was an active supporter of the Industrial Home for Crippled Children in Pittsburgh.
