  • Description
  • Each department at H.J. Heinz Company held its own Christmas celebrations. On the day before Christmas in the early twentieth century, employees at the company gave a play, written and staged by the employees, which included music furnished by the Heinz Orchestra. Also included in the program were instrumental and vocal solos by the employees, with encores, humorous recitations, and a presentation of a floral tribute to management from the women employees. The auditorium was adorned with a large Christmas tree and various decorations. After the entertainment each employee received a gift from the company.
