Description
H.J. Heinz Company first introduced apple butter in the mid-1870s, along with pepper sauce and mince meat, not long after they began producing tomato ketchup. In the early 1900s, H.J. Heinz Company manufactured over 200 products and employed about 2,900 full-time people. H.J. Heinz Company was the largest producer of pickles, vinegar, and ketchup and the second largest producer of mustard in the United States at the time.
