James A. Dorsey, seen on the left, with unidentified members of the Monticello Athletic Association. The team established by Dorsey in 1910 and coached by Cumberland Posey. gained national attention when they upset Howard University's basketball team in 1911 to win the unofficial "Colored Basketball" championship.
