Description
In the Wire Mill at the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation's Aliquippa Works, hot rolled rod is processed into a full range of wire sizes and grades. During the 1930s Jones & Laughlin began major product diversification, expanding into wire, tin, plate, welded and seamless pipe, cords, and wire rope. Wire products included plain, galvanized and barbed wire, nails, staples, and woven wire fence. In 1982 the Rod and Wire Mill was shutdown.
