Description
Construction workers during the major expansion and erection of new facilities to increase steel production at the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation’s Aliquippa Works. Included in this project were a new 44-inch semi-continuous hot strip mill (designed to produce tin plate hot bands), a electricweld tube mill, two continuous buttweld pipe mills, a stretch reducing mill, and a gas-fired reheating furnace. The 44-inch Blooming Mill was shut down in October 1984.
