Description
This photo shows the intersection of Ohio River Boulevard and the 2300 block of California Avenue in the Marshall-Shadeland section of Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood. Marshall-Shadeland was named in honor of Archibald M. Marshall, Irish grocer, dry goods merchant, and partner at the Marshall-Kennedy Milling Company. A mostly residential area, Marshall-Shadeland is made up of the following ethnic groups: Slovak, Russians, Italians, Carpatho-Rusyns, Irish, and Germans.
