Description
Duquesne Light Company’s Oil-Fired Peaking Units at its Brunot Island Power Station facility. The six-unit, simple cycle peaking facility began operation in 1972. In 2000 Orion Power MidWest announced plans to convert the Brunot Island facility to an efficient, environmentally friendly combined cycle power plant fuelled with natural gas. Downtown Pittsburgh is visible in the background.
