Description
View of the Elizabeth Bridge, officially known as the Regis R. Malady Bridge, during construction. The bridge, erected in 1948, is located in Elizabeth Borough in West Elizabeth. The bridge spans the Monongahela River and carries Route 51. The four lane divided bridge replaced an 1893 structure, which used three camelback trusses to cross at Plum Street. The structure’s main span is 434.5 feet in length and the vertical clearance of its deck is 50 feet.
