Description
More than 2,400 children went through Children’s Hospital’s wards during the first year (1926) the hospital was in its new building on the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is the only hospital in western Pennsylvania dedicated solely to the care of infants, children, and young adults. The hospital is also the only accredited Level 1 Pediatric Regional Resource Trauma Center in western Pennsylvania and one of only two in the state.
