Description
The Pittsburgh National Alliance of Businessmen administered the JOBS (Job Opportunities in the Business Sector) program, which included the largest contract ever signed in the tri-state area. Presbyterian-University Hospital hired, and trained, 190 unemployed persons for jobs, which included ward clerks, nurses aides, and building tradesmen. An additional contract provided for the upgrading of 95 employees into better jobs. Pictured are participants in a typewriting class where they learn skills to prepare them for future job opportunities.
