Description
The $2.5 million Moon High School, designed by architects Lamont H. Button and Paul F. McLean, is located near Pittsburgh International Airport in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. On December 16, 1788, Moon Township was recognized as a township, making it the oldest township and one of the original seven townships in Allegheny County. Moon Township was a rural area prior to the development of Greater Pittsburgh Airport in the 1950s, which transformed the area into a growing suburban community containing numerous airport-related industries.
