Description
Before redevelopment of Duquesne University in downtown Pittsburgh, the area surrounding the university’s main building was filled with antiquated buildings at best and blight and squalor at worst. Many of the houses were still using outhouses like the ones shown here. Eventually, the entire area was demolished to make way for a completely new campus.
