Description
Rising above the ruins of the old Wabash Terminal (foreground) are the buildings of Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. One of the earliest examples of sheathing buildings in steel, this project became the center of a complex of skyscrapers between Stanwix Street and Point State Park. Eventually, all the buildings in the foreground were razed to make way for the Gateway Center project. The Gateway Center buildings were completed around 1952.
