Description
The Mesta Machine Company Pattern Department was a two story, steel and concrete, fireproof building directly adjacent to the Mesta foundries. The department housed woodworking machinery, driven by motors, and an exhaust system to dispose of the sawdust. The first floor of the department was primarily concerned with producing devices used for gear moldings and mill pinions. The second floor was the production area for the larger patterns. The foundry had a platform directly connected to the second floor to transfer the larger patterns back and forth.
