Description
East Carnegie School was a four room, two-story brick building located at the corner of Alter and Doolittle Streets in Pittsburgh’s East Carnegie neighborhood. It was named for the district which honored the Pittsburgh benefactor, Andrew Carnegie. The school, built in 1907, was closed in 1971 and the property was sold in 1973 to the City of Pittsburgh for a recreational site. The building was subsequently razed.
