Description
Brookline School, built in 1907, is located at the corner of Woodbourne and Pioneer Avenues. Work began on the school and another school located in the Beechview section of Pittsburgh at the same time. The two buildings were identical in design and size. Both were two white brick structures containing four rooms. Both schools were dedicated on the same day in June 1909. The first addition to Brookline School, designed by the architectural firm of Bartberger, Cooley and Bartberger, was erected in 1911. In 1928, a second addition, designed by E. M. Stotz, was completed.
