  • Description
  • Andrews School, built in 1868, was located at 410 Ella Street near Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood. The school was originally named after John Howard, a prominent Bloomfield resident. It was renamed after Samuel Andrews, who served as superintendent of the Pittsburgh public schools from 1899 to 1911. Andrews School closed in 1942 and was razed a year later.
