  • Herron Hill Junior High School Construction Class students from left to right are Donald Harris, Claude Garrison, Kevin Pugh, Ken Saunders, Steven Wise, Arthur English, Gregory Moore, William Roberts, teacher John Luck, George Tyler from Fifth Avenue School, Darnell Tyler, Alvin Thompson, James Dale Covington from Epiphany, James Smith from Braddock Schools, and Otis Freeman from Fifth Avenue School. Herron Hill Junior High School, opened in 1928 at Avalon Street and Centre Avenue in the City of Pittsburgh, provided a combination of academic and vocational education for grades 7, 8, and 9. The school closed in 1974 and following remodeling, reopened in 1976 as the Margaret Milliones Technology Academy.
