Description
Oliver High School was named in honor of David B. Oliver, who served the Pittsburgh public schools for almost fifty years. For many years he was president of the Allegheny Board of School Control and later the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education. In addition, he was active in formulating the Pennsylvania School Code. Oliver High School was built in 1924 and in 1928 an addition to the building was constructed.
