Description
Woods Run School, built in 1859, was named for the locality in which it was located that was part of Allegheny City. At that time, the City of Allegheny and Pittsburgh were two separate cities. A brick building containing three rooms was built on the same lot in 1867. By 1873, to accommodate the growing population in the area, a more spacious building, which contained twelve rooms and a large hall, was built. An addition to this structure was erected in 1926. Woods Run School was closed in 1965.
