  • Schenley High School, located at 4101 Bigelow Boulevard, opened on October 2, 1916. It was the first school built in the United States that cost over $1 million to construct. Today, the school serves the Pittsburgh communities of Schenley Heights, Schenley Farms, Hill District, Oakland, Lawrenceville, and Bloomfield. The school also offers a magnet program that is open to all city residents, contingent on available space and racial balance.
